Edinburgh is extremely well-connected to transport links including air, train, tram, buses, and taxis. Public transportation in the UK is very easy to navigate and reliable, offering good options for getting around without a car. If you plan to rent a car for your trip, we recommend doing this after you leave Edinburgh, as driving and parking in Edinburgh City Center is difficult.
Edinburgh International Airport (EDI) is about at 30 minute commute from the city center.
Tram- The tram is located just outside of the arrivals terminal in Edinburgh. A round trip ticket costs £9 for adults and £3.50 (single trip) for children ages 5-15. There is a ticket machine beside the tram stop where you can purchase your tickets. The tram has several stops in the New Town district.
Bus- The Airlink 100 bus picks up and drops off right outside of the terminal. A return (round trip) adult ticket is £8 and a child return ticket is £4.
Taxi- There is a taxi bank just across from the tram stop, which offers taxis with pre-confirmed prices.
